Poncafest 5K
Celebrate Buffalo Outdoor Center’s 50th year of helping visitors discover the beauty of the Buffalo National River!
Event Overview
Lace up your running shoes and kick off Poncafest 2026 with a fun and energizing 5K & 5K Fun Run. The event takes place on Saturday, August 1st, beginning at 7:30 AM at Buffalo Outdoor Center’s store on Highway 43 in Ponca. Participants of all ages are welcome, whether you prefer to run, jog, or walk.
Competitive 5K Race
The timed 5K begins promptly at 7:30 AM and follows a scenic course south on Highway 43 from Buffalo Outdoor Center. The route features one small hill to test your stamina before heading back toward the finish line.

Non-Competitive 5K Fun Run
Looking for a more relaxed experience? The Fun Run is perfect for walkers, families, and casual runners. Registrants with children in strollers are also welcome.

Official Event T-Shirt
Every registered participant receives a premium Poncafest 5K tri-blend t-shirt, available in sizes XS through XXL. These shirts have a more athletic fit, so consider sizing up if you prefer a more generous cut.
Important: Register by midnight on July 15th to guarantee your t-shirt.
Same-Day Registration
You may register on the morning of the race before 7:15 AM, although t-shirt availability cannot be guaranteed.
Same-day registration opens at 6:45 AM at Buffalo Outdoor Center in Ponca.
Awards
Medals will be awarded. Male and Female Age group categories will include 1-12yrs, 13-19yrs, 20-29yrs, 30-39yrs, 40-49yrs, 50-59yrs, 60-69yrs, & 70yrs+.
